FHQ Developments 5th Annual Golf Tournament: A Hole-in-One for Indigenous Education

FHQ Developments is proud to reflect on the immense success of our 5th Annual Golf Tournament, a day filled with camaraderie, friendly competition, and a shared commitment to a noble cause. This year’s event, held on August 17, 2023, at the picturesque Deer Valley Golf & Country Club, exceeded all expectations, raising over $85,000 in support of Indigenous education.

As a company deeply rooted in community development and Indigenous empowerment, our golf tournament has become a hallmark of our commitment to making a positive impact. The day commenced with enthusiastic participants registering and receiving their hole and cart assignments, setting the stage for an unforgettable day of golf.

We were honoured to have Thomas Benjoe, our President & CEO, deliver the welcoming remarks, emphasizing the significance of the occasion and the vital role education plays in the lives of Indigenous youth. With a shotgun start, the tournament kicked off, and golfers of varying skill levels enjoyed a day of competition, laughter, and networking.

Throughout the event, participants were treated to a sumptuous lunch-to-go, ensuring they were fueled and refreshed. After a day on the greens, the evening brought everyone together for a delightful dinner buffet featuring roast beef, mashed potatoes, salads, baked corn, gravy, buns, and an array of delectable dainties.

The climax of the event arrived during the awards and closing remarks, hosted by the spirited Danielle Lumberjack. It was an opportunity to recognize the golfers for their achievements on the course and to express our heartfelt gratitude to all who contributed to the success of the tournament.

At the heart of this event lies our unwavering commitment to the Indigenous Academic Leadership Fund. FHQ Developments is dedicated to investing in the future generation of Indigenous leaders by ensuring they have access to post-secondary education. This year, our goal was to raise $75,000, and we are thrilled to announce that we exceeded this target raising over $85,000, contributing to a fund that has already provided over $135,000 in scholarships to Indigenous students within four years.

FHQ Developments has made an incredible impact, offering over $200,000 in scholarships over the past five years. This dedication to fostering Indigenous talent’s educational aspirations will undoubtedly help bridge the future skills gap in the business community.

None of this would have been possible without the generous support of our sponsors:

At FHQ Developments, we extend our heartfelt thanks to all sponsors for their unwavering commitment to Indigenous education. With your support, this year’s golf tournament was a “tee-rific” success that will continue to make a significant impact on the lives of Indigenous students pursuing higher education. We are proud to be part of a community that believes in the power of education and is dedicated to fostering Indigenous excellence.

Thank you for making our 5th Annual Golf Tournament an incredible success!
