Michelle Brooks, Director of Indigenous HR Strategy

Michelle  joined FHQ Developments in September 2021.  She is our Indigenous HR Strategy Manager where she leads a team that is building and recruiting Indigenous Talent for in-demand industries.  She has worked in Human Resources for over 18 years in a combination of roles as a Talent Acquisition Manager,  HR Generalist and as a business owner and career coach.

Michelle’s education includes a Bachelor of Administration (focused in HR) from the University of Regina, a Business Management Diploma from the Saskatchewan Indian Institute of Technologies (SIIT) and numerous public speaking, Diversity and leadership courses.  She worked at SaskTel for over 20 years before following her passion to work in her role with FHQ Developments.

As an Indigenous leader, her passion lies in helping everyone work towards Truth and Reconciliation in Canada.  Michelle does this through her current position, by managing her career coaching business,  and by sitting on the Board of the Ignite Adult Learning Corporation.  Michelle will say that FHQ Developments was her goal organization to work with and she enjoys coming to work every day to collaborate with the teams.  The company mission and vision aligns with her personal and professional goals.

Michelle is a member of the Cowessess First Nation.  Outside of work, she enjoys camping, golfing, playing the piano and  spending as much time as she can with family and friends.
