FHQ Developments Triumphs with 2nd Professional Networking Event, Bridging HR Professionals and Indigenous Post-Secondary Students for Future Career Opportunities

FHQ Developments proudly reflects on the success of the 2nd Professional Networking Event, which took place at the Ramada Plaza, Kookie’s Krib Fireside Lounge on October 9, 2019. This event marked another significant milestone in our ongoing efforts to connect HR professionals with Indigenous post-secondary students.

The event brought together HR professionals and students from renowned institutions such as the First Nations University of Canada (FNUC), Saskatchewan Indian Institute of Technology (SIIT), Saskatchewan Polytechnic Regina campus, and the Gabriel Dumont Institute (GDI) Regina campus. The goal was to facilitate meaningful employment-related dialogue between employers and students, fostering connections that could lead to future summer student opportunities and co-op positions within the Indigenous student talent pool.

FHQ Developments recognized the importance of collaboration and networking in creating pathways for students to enter the workforce successfully. Attendees had the chance to engage in conversations that extended beyond the event, creating lasting connections that could potentially shape the students’ professional journeys.

The event not only provided a platform for networking but also showcased AGEN as a tri-partner, prominently featuring their logo on social media and print posters. We express gratitude for any monetary donations provided by AGEN toward the event’s costs, emphasizing their valuable contribution. Additionally, we encouraged AGEN’s active participation in the event as organizing members, participants, and representatives of Indigenous professional agencies associated with the provincial Government.

The success of the 2nd Professional Networking Event underscored the importance of fostering collaboration between HR professionals and Indigenous students, creating opportunities for dialogue and connection that have a lasting impact on the future of Indigenous talent in the workforce. We extend our appreciation to all participants, partners, and sponsors who played a role in making this event a success and look forward to continued endeavours in advancing Indigenous professionals in the workplace.
