Congratulations to Jada Yee for the Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal
FHQ Developments is immensely proud to extend our heartfelt congratulations to Jada Yee for being awarded the 2023 Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal in recognition of their exemplary service to the community in the pursuit of reconciliation. This honour was bestowed upon Jada in a momentous ceremony held at Henry Baker Hall in City Hall, Regina, on January 30th.
The event was not a solitary affair but a double celebration, with two ceremonies taking place in the council chamber. In total, 164 outstanding Regina residents were honoured for their unwavering contributions and dedication to the community.
The recipients hailed from diverse backgrounds, embodying the essence of community service. They represented fields as varied as agriculture, the arts, health services, protective services, armed forces, the legal profession, education, and many others. Their collective commitment to making a difference in their community was truly commendable.
The medals were presented by Lieutenant Governor Russ Mirasty, joined by Deputy Mayor Andrew Stevens, who represented the City of Regina. The significance of this honour extended beyond Regina, as our city’s recipients were among the 7,000 individuals across the province who received the prestigious Platinum Jubilee medals.
This recognition journey began with the presentation of the first 70 medals at Government House in August, followed by ceremonies held across the province over the ensuing months. The recipients for this particular round in Regina were chosen through a rigorous nomination process, which concluded on November 30th.
This Platinum Jubilee Medal holds a unique place in Canadian history, as it marks the first time that a royal occasion has been commemorated with provincial medals. Previous Jubilee medals were issued nationally. Lieutenant Governor Mirasty aptly noted, “This medal program is an excellent way to commemorate Her Majesty’s devotion to service⦠while celebrating the dedicated service of people like you here today. It is only the second Saskatchewan commemorative medal, the first being issued during our Centennial in 2005.”
These medals serve as a valuable means to recognize and appreciate the selfless individuals who tirelessly work to enrich our communities. Their remarkable achievements are a source of inspiration to us all.
FHQ Developments extends its heartfelt gratitude to Jada Yee and all the honourees for their unwavering dedication and service to Regina and our great province. Your efforts truly inspire us, and we thank you for your exceptional contributions.
